Courtney Hoelmer, MA, LCAS-A
I am currently a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I have been practicing in the behavioral health and substance use field since 2012. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2023, I held a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) position in Minnesota since 2019. I’ve primarily worked with adults in both residential and outpatient settings, addressing mental health and substance use concerns.
I am passionate about helping individuals and families who have been impacted by substance use. I specialize in working with individuals navigating challenges related to recovery, everyday stress, low self-esteem, and rediscovering their identity.
Substance use doesn’t just affect the person using substances—it ripples through families and relationships. I am an ally and understand the silent struggle of those who love someone battling substance use. You may not be the one using, but you’re hurting too—confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn. You deserve support as well.
My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, with a strong emphasis on Narrative Therapy. Through narrative techniques, I believe every person is the author of their own story—and therapy is a chance to take back the pen and begin writing a new chapter. If you’re ready to begin that journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
